“Better With Age ” Wine Tasting & Silent Auction

Wine lovers and cuisine connouisseurs filled The Grand Luxe Event Boutique for the “Better With Age” North York Seniors’s Centre fundraiser. Guests had a ball biddng on over 100 glamourous silent auction prizes such as a Toshiba Notebook, Leaf tickets, works of art, gifts baskets and more. Throughout the night guests were invited to sample an extravagant assortment of wines from around the world including Catena Chardonnay, Beronia Tempranillo and McManis Cabernet Sauvignon. Of course this annual event is more than just an amazing evening filled with wine tasting and silent auctions, it’s also the signature fundraiser for North York Seniors Centre. On average North York Seniors Centre helps over 3000 pepeople through recreational activities, services in the community, and a supportive housing program.

North York Seniors Veterans Lunch

Last month the North York Seniors Centre held theri 1st Annual Veterans Lunch. Members of the community and Veterans from North York were all welcome to attend. Sponsored by Senor Homecare by Angels and served by volunteers from Janssen Inc., the attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch. Keynote speakers Petty Officer Don Steward, President of the Veterans & Community Resident’s Council at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, and Mark Adler, M.P. for York Centre, spoke at the event. The musical talents of Jorge Gavidia and Sarah Begin entertained the group.
