Growing to New Heights!

We are “Growing to New Heights”

Last November Staff Teams, Board Members and invited guests of North York Seniors Centre, Better Living Health & Community Services and St. Clair West Services for Seniors attended an event to launch their collaborative approach to achieving accreditation. The three organizations, who deliver similar services and programs to seniors in communities across Toronto, affirmed their commitment to continuous quality improvement by seeking accreditation with CARF Canada.

Starting in January 2012, representatives from each of the organizations will meet weekly to review the Standards, share best practices and engage in a knowledge transfer that will enhance service and program delivery to their clients, members and community. The Self Assessment process, facilitated by Consultant and CARF Surveyor, Avanthi Goddard, will continue for several months as the organizations prepare for their individual surveys. North York Seniors Centre is preparing for a survey scheduled in the Fall of 2012.

The year ahead is going to be a challenging one; however, we are confident that the highest rating of accreditation is within our reach. To learn more about how NYSC is “Growing to New Heights” and what accreditation means to the Centre and to you, ask a staff team member about it, check our website for updates and watch for bulletins posted around the Centre.
