Local Love Day
| September 18, 2020North York Seniors Centre is proud to be part of the Local Love Day, a United Way Campaign, on Friday, Sep 25. The day campaign is a call to support all the people and families significantly impacted by COVID 19 — folks struggling to put food on the table and pay the rent. Â
During the day, multiple activities will be offered for free. One of them is a Chair Yoga Session with Terri Dunning – an instructor and partner of North York Seniors Centre who has been engaging amazingly well with the members of the Centre.Â
ABOUT CHAIR YOGA
Chair Yoga is a fun opportunity for seniors to work on relaxation understanding body movement. It is an accessible class for those of varying mobility, where the participant will use breathing and movement to relax while also increasing energy. An important advantage is seeing fellow participants and our instructor Terri, which will help decrease feelings of isolation as we are limited with in-person contact.
ABOUT TERRI
Terri started practicing Yoga after recovering from Ovarian Cancer. She loved it so much that she wanted to teach others the benefits. She has been an enthusiastic and attentive Restorative Yoga instructor since 2003, and absolutely loves doing it.
