Things to do at the Active Living Centre

There’s so much to do at the Active Living Centre (ALC) it can be hard to find the right program. We are here to help you narrow down your choices, give advice or make recommendations. As an ALC Member, you can meet with one of our Recreation Programmers to help you decide what programs and services are best for you.

Programs delivered during COVID-19

In addition to our in-person programming, we continue to offer programs over Zoom and phone for those not able to attend in person. Members, clients, and volunteers can access our activities via telephone through a free telephone-based program called “Seniors’ Centre Without Walls,” and virtual programs through our Facebook Group Page. Non-members have access to the videos through our YouTube Channel.

The programs are designed considering the specific demographic and include mindful meditation, book club, games, conversation, poetry readings, information workshops, and support sessions, just to name a few.

Telephone Programs

Members of the Active Living Centre can access our activities via telephone- a free telephone-based program called “Seniors Centre Without Walls”.

The programming platform helps those without internet or computer access to stay connected to their friends, peers, and our teams.

The programs offered are designed to serve seniors in the community who are isolated in any way. It provides access to programs such as conversation, poetry readings, information workshops, trivia games, and support sessions, or any other programs considered appropriate to be delivered over the telephone conferencing platform.

For more information call 416 733.4111.
