2022 is a new year and together we can do much more!

The pandemic has been a life-changing event for us all, and yet despite the many challenges, Seniors face each and every day, they continue to find ways to stay connected, stay active, and support each other. North York Seniors Centre may have “Heroes that Work Here”, but we know the TRUE Super Heroes are the seniors we serve every day.

Seniors like Marlyn, a member and a volunteer who participates in the many virtual programs offered over the past 20 months. Marlyn recently returned to the Active Living Centre, to teach knitting and crochet to her peers, and volunteers at reception, reconnecting to old friends and making new ones.

“I need social connection to manage my anxiety, and NYSC has kept my life going during these two years where I was housebound taking care of two people with immune deficiency disorder. The Centre kept me in higher spirit by connecting me with friends and engaging me daily.”

As clients, members and volunteers gradually return to the Active Living Centre and A Day Away Club for in-person activities, NYSC’s commitment to supporting seniors and caregivers who remain isolated is unwavering. With your help, we will continue to work for what is important to us all – our health, our family and our community.
